Prague Day Trip

This full day Prague day trip visits the charming Bohemian town of Cesky Krumlov. Outside of Prague, this is the most visited village in the Czech Republic, and it is so charming, that you will easily understand why. You will enjoy a city walking tour, a castle visit and some free time.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Prague and you begin the 2.5 hour drive through the beauty of southern Bohemia's countryside until you reach Cesky Krumlov. This picturesque village is nestled in the meandering Vltava River Valley. The whole village is listed on the UNESCO heritage list, and because of their historical value there are some 250 buildings which are protected structures.

After meeting your local guide, they will provide a walking tour of the town, passing historic houses in this idyllic setting which is called the Renaissance Pearl.

Next you visit the second largest fortress castle in the Czech Republic, dating back to the 13th century. Your castle tour focuses on the original Castle interiors from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Included in the tour are Saint Georges Castle Chapel, Eggengerg Hall with the golden carriage and the Masquerade Hall.

In the afternoon you have free time for lunch (meal not included) at one of the many restaurants located on the edge of the river. After lunch is additional time for you to wander through the narrow cobbled streets and squares of this fairytale village. You'll wish the day would never end as you reconnect with your driver for the return to Prague.

On the way back to Prague your guide can share more history or general information about life in the Czech Republic.
