Monaco / Monte Carlo Shore Excursion

This full day Monte Carlo shore trip visits the both the Italian and French Rivieras. Your driver-guide takes you to a local Italian market and then the charming Italian village of Dolceacqua. Later in the day you visit the most popular spots in Monaco's old town and modern Monte Carlo.

After meeting your driver-guide at the pier in Monte Carlo, you drive along the coast towards the Italian border. Your first stop today is either in Sanremo or Ventimiglia, depending on which town is hosting a local market. Sanremo's market days are Tuesday and Saturday and the largest market is in Ventimiglia on Friday. On these days you can shop for local fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats but also Italian leather goods (shoes, hand bags, belts) and clothing, all at a fraction of the cost in stores.

Next you visit the charming medieval village of Dolceacqua which is also located in the Italian Riviera but very close to the border with France. This village is dominated by its 13th century castle. You stop for a short visit to take in the local charm and photo opportunities.

Later today you visit the Principality of Monaco where you have free time to explore the old town of Monaco to see the Royal Palace, plus stroll through the Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried. Please note that no bare shoulders or shorts (above the knee) are allowed in the Cathedral.

You also have free time in Monaco so you can enjoy lunch (meal not included).

Next you drive on the route of the legendary Grand Prix of Monte-Carlo Formula 1 circuit. This race takes place on the streets of Monte Carlo and your driver-guide will point out some of the more famous hairpin turns of the course.

Your final stop of the day is in the modern city of Monte Carlo, home to the rich and famous. High rise condominiums fill your vision and the streets buzz with luxury cars. Get your camera ready as one can hardly believe the luxury of this unique place!

The famous Casino of Monte Carlo sits across from a lovely park which is also lined with designer boutiques, luxury hotels and more. Parked in front of the casino there are invariably some of the most expensive cars in the world such as Bentley, Porsche, Ferrari. Aston Martin and Lamborghini.

At the end of this popular Monte Carlo shore excursion, you'll return to the port.
