Haifa Shore Excursion - This tour allows you to enjoy the outstanding landscape of lower Galilee. You visit Nazareth and Capernaum and drive along the Sea of Galilee to Tabgha and Yardenit, the famous site where the Jordan River leaves the Sea of Galilee towards the Dead Sea.

After meeting your private guide at the pier in Haifa, you depart for Nazareth, the town where Jesus spent his childhood. Upon arrival you visit the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph. The Church of Annunciation is located at the spot where the Annunciation took place (according to Catholic tradition). Inside is the Grotto of Annunciation which many Christians believe to be the childhood home of Mary. Early traditions state that the Church of St. Joseph is located over the carpenter's workshop. Later traditions say it was the house of Joseph and the Holy family.

Next you travel to Capernaum traveling past Kana and the resort town of Tiberias along the Sea of Galilee. Also know as Lake Kinnereth, this is the largest fresh water lake in Israel. Capernaum was the center of Jesus' activities in the Galilee and he taught in the local synagogue. The town was also the home of the apostles Peter, James, Andrew and John. While you are here you visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue where Jesus taught.

Free time for lunch (meal not included) is provided during the tour.

Next you continue on to Tabgha which was the site of the Miracle of Fish and Loaves. Tabgha is located at the foot of the Golan Heights.

Finally you drive to Yardenit, the famous site where the Jordan River leaves the Sea of Galilee towards the Dead Sea. The Jordan River was the major river of ancient Israel and famous for the Baptisms which took place here.

Later today you return to the pier in Haifa.
