Chan May Vietnam Shore Excursion - This tour visits Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam and most popular tour from Chan May. You visits sites such as the Imperial Citadel and Thien Mu Pagoda, plus enjoy a cyclo tour to see local life in Hue. A typical Vietnamese lunch is included.

After meeting your guide at the pier, you depart for Hue. The city is home to the eclectic and mesmerizing tombs and mausoleums of the last emperors of Vietnam, revealing fascinating insights into the lives of the imperial families and their subjects.

When you arrive in Hue, your tour starts with a visit to the impressive Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. The ancient citadel reflects the pomp and ceremony of the dynastic rulers as well as the scars of many years of turmoil, both ancient and modern.

Next you visit the citys best known religious site, the Thien Mu Pagoda. Being seven stories high, it is the tallest and most important pagoda in Vietnam. The pagoda dates back to 1601 and sits on a hill where a woman once proclaimed that a Lord would build a temple on this site.

After exploring Thien Mu you enjoy lunch at Ancient Hue Restaurant for some traditional Vietnamese cuisine. This hidden gem is located within the walls of the Phu Mong Garden House, which dates back to the 1800s. The menu features local items such as banana blossom salad, banh beo (steamed rice flour with shrimp flakes), and banh khoai (fried rice pancakes stuffed with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts).

Following your meal hop aboard a cyclo (modern day rickshaw) for a tour Hues citadel where you can see the daily life of the citys inhabitants.

Later this afternoon you visit the Mausoleum of former emperor Khai Dinh which is located on the side of a mountain near Hue. This monument was built in traditional Vietnamese design with a European touch making it unique from the other tombs in Vietnam.

You return back to the pier at the end of the tour.
