This private tour starts in London or at Heathrow Airport and drives to Bath, about 115 miles (185km) west of London, before ending with a transfer to the Southampton cruise terminal.
Bath has welcomed visitors for hundreds of years, built around the 116 degree mineral hot springs that rise from a point in the center of town. When the Romans arrived in Britain, they built an extensive bath house on the site, modeled on those found throughout the Roman Empire.
In the Georgian and Victorian eras, Bath's hot springs drew members of high society from London for the summer season, along with visitors seeking treatment for various ailments.
On arrival, you visit the Royal Crescent and the Circus, Georgian era town houses designed by architect John Wood for London's high society to stay in while visiting Bath.
Next you visit Bath Abbey, a Late Gothic abbey over 500 years old, built on the site of an even older church. Its history is depicted on the West Front of the building, considered one of the last great medieval churches built in England. Donations are requested at the entrance.
After the Abbey, you have free time for lunch (meal not included) before visiting the Roman Baths, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here the Romans built a temple and bathing complex that still flows with natural hot water today. The visit includes original Roman artifacts and an explanation of how the baths worked.
After the Roman Baths, you have additional free time in Bath before the drive to the Southampton cruise terminal, based on the length of that transfer.
