Salisbury Cathedral from London to Southampton Private Tour

This private tour can start in London or at Heathrow Airport and visits the historic city of Salisbury and its Cathedral before ending with a transfer to the Southampton cruise terminal.

Salisbury is a historic market town that grew up around its Cathedral, dating to 1220, when the hilltop settlement of Old Sarum relocated to this site.

On arrival, you take a walking tour of the town center, originally laid out by trade, with areas such as Fish Row, Butcher Row and Poultry Cross still visible today. Many timber framed buildings from that era remain standing in the shadow of Salisbury Cathedral.

After free time for lunch (meal not included), you visit the Cathedral itself. Built in just 38 years, from 1220 to 1258 AD, Salisbury Cathedral is an example of early English Gothic architecture set within 8 acres of lawn and Britain's largest medieval Close. The Cathedral holds one of the best preserved of only four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta, the 1215 document that forms the basis of the American constitution. It also has Britain's tallest spire, at 404 feet, and Europe's oldest working clock, dating to 1386 AD.

At the end of the visit, your guide transfers you to the Southampton cruise terminal.
