Tallinn Shore Excursion

This Tallinn shore trip includes a short walking tour in Tallinn and then a visit to the famous Kadriorg Park and Palace, built in 1721 by the Russian Emperor Peter the Great as a gift to his wife Catherine II.

Your licensed guide will meet you at the pier and take you on a short drive around the ancient city walls. When you arrive in Tallinn's Lower Old Town you will enjoy a short walking tour including views of the Old Town Hall Square. You are in Tallinn long enough to get some basic, but fascinating, historical information.

Next you drive to the Kadriorg Baroque Park and Palace. On the way you'll have a photo stop at the ruins of Pirita Abbey, and the soaring stage of the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds which can hold 24,000 singers.

The highlight of your day will be visiting Kadriorg a secluded neighborhood of large forested parks crossed by paths and dotted with statues and ponds. The Kadriorg Palace, built in 1721, is a magnificent, Baroque structure surrounded by manicured gardens and fountains that Russian czar Peter the Great established as a gift to his wife Catherine II. The palace was used as their summer residence and it, along with the baroque flower garden, are typical of the Russian architectural style of the time.

At the end of your tour, you return to the pier in Tallinn.
