Palma Old Town Courtyards Shore Excursion from Palma de Mallorca

This 4-hour private walking tour takes you into a side of Palma's old town most visitors never see: its courtyards.

Behind the plain stone facades lining Palma's narrow streets are more than 40 private courtyards, many dating back centuries, built by the island's noble and merchant families. Your guide leads you through a selection of the finest, including Can Berga, home of the High Court and known for its grand imperial staircase, the Oleza Palace, one of the oldest noble residences in the city, and Can Vivot, notable for its Baroque courtyard lined with marble columns. Along the way you'll also see Can Pasquela, Can la Gran Cristina, Can Marques, Can Llado, the Marques del Palmer courtyard, and Can Catlar del Llorer, and Can Alemany, each with its own architectural details and family history.

Partway through the walk, you stop at a local tavern for a tasting of traditional Mallorcan sweets and savories, including quarts, coca de patata, and ensaimada, before continuing on through the old town.

This tour is entirely on foot through Palma's historic center, giving you a close-up look at architecture that's easy to miss from the street.
