This Cannes shore trip visits the most popular coastal towns on the French Riviera, including Monaco and Monte Carlo, plus your choice of a stop in Nice or Eze. Your driver-guide takes you to the Prince's Palace and the Cathedral in Monaco, the Grand Prix route and Casino of Monte Carlo, plus panoramic photo stops along the way.

After meeting your driver-guide at the pier in Cannes, you start the coastal drive to Nice along the famous Croisette Boulevard, lined with five star hotels, designer boutiques and the Cannes Film Festival Palace. Leaving Cannes you pass through the town of Antibes before reaching Nice, where you drive down La Promenade des Anglais, the palm tree lined street that parallels the most famous beach on the Riviera.

In Nice, you have the choice to visit the old town and walk through the flower market (closed Mondays, when a flea market takes place instead), or continue on to the medieval village of Eze, known for its stunning views and quaint charm. Leaving Nice you follow the Lower Corniche road, which hugs the dramatic rocky coastline, until you reach the Principality of Monaco.

You have free time to explore the old town of Monaco, where you can see the guards outside the Prince's Palace and step inside the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate, where Princess Grace is buried. The cathedral was built between 1875 and 1903 on the site of Monaco's original 13th century parish church and consecrated in 1911. Please note that bare shoulders and shorts above the knee are not permitted inside.

Next you drive the route of the Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 circuit, first raced in 1929 and part of the Formula 1 World Championship calendar since 1955. Your driver-guide points out some of the course's famous hairpin turns before your final stop in the modern city of Monte Carlo, home to the Casino of Monte Carlo and the luxury hotels and boutiques that surround it.

At the end of this Cannes shore excursion, you return to the port along the Upper Corniche, the road that runs along the cliff tops high above the sea, with one or two more panoramic stops along the way.

  • During the Grand Prix Events there is a 50% supplement and it is not possible to visit Monaco or Monte Carlo from June 4-7, 2026. Please contact us if you are interested in a tour during this period.
  • About the Casino of Monte Carlo - The Casino of Monte Carlo is open to tourists for viewing from 10 AM until 12 noon. During this period the entry fee is 20 Euro per person and no gaming is open. From 2 PM onwards the casino is open to individuals (not tour groups) and a formal dress code is enforced. During this period an entry ticket is required to access the gaming areas, including the slots, craps and Black Jack tables. You must show your passport to buy the ticket, and 10 Euro of the ticket price is returned to use at the slot machines or at the bar. Everyone must be 18 years or older and have their passport available.

Why do I have to choose between Nice and Eze on this tour instead of seeing both?
Cannes sits further from Eze than Monaco or Villefranche do, so fitting both Nice and Eze into a 6-hour day from this specific port isn't realistic without feeling rushed. Instead, you choose one. What's the route like leaving Cannes?
You start along the Croisette, Cannes' famous boulevard lined with five-star hotels and the Film Festival Palace, then pass through Antibes before reaching Nice (or continuing on toward Eze, depending on your choice).
Do we get inside the Monaco Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried?
Yes, that's part of the Monaco stop, along with the Royal Palace guards and grounds. Just note the Cathedral has a dress code, no bare shoulders or shorts above the knee, so plan your outfit accordingly.
What will we actually see of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit?

The shore trip was great! It was so much better to have a private tour, as opposed to the bus tours that the cruise line contracted with. We saw more sites than would have been possible any other way, our driver was knowledgable, and an expert driver, and she (Sabrina) got us back to the ship on time! She even had time to drop my older son off early so he could watch the USA-China basketball game on TV in his cabin. If I find myself doing another cruise in Europe, I will contact your company to set up the shore trips.
