Cannes Shore Excursion

This full day private Cannes shore trip includes a driver-guide who takes you to most popular hilltop towns on the French Riviera including St Paul de Vence and Eze. There is also a stop to enjoy a wine tasting at the Chateau de Cremat, plus free time for lunch.

After meeting your driver-guide at the pier in Cannes, you start the drive to the hilltop town of St Paul de Vence. The van parks outside the medieval walls near some lovely cafes where you can enjoy a coffee while watching locals play the Provencal game of Boules or Petanque. Or you can take a stroll on the cobblestone street of this popular hilltop Provencal town to enjoy the many art galleries and boutiques. This medieval jewel has long been known for its artists and it is where many painters and actors live today. You can also walk on the town's medieval walls and into the old cemetery to see Chagall's resting place.

Next you drive to the hilltop town of Eze. This typical French pedestrian-only medieval village is made up of tiny steep stone lanes and buildings. The village clings to the cliffs over 1000 feet above the sea. There is time for you to walk to the top of the town's hill where a succulent garden offers amazing views of the sea far below (expect to pay an entry fee if you wish to explore the gardens). You can take some time to peak into the boutiques. Alternatively you can enjoy the scents of Provence at the nearby Fragonard perfume factory which is a must do on one of your visits to this region.

While you are here there is time to enjoy lunch.

On the way to the wine tasting you enjoy photo stops overlooking the famous bay Nice and its famous Promenade des Anglais, the old port of Nice and its hill top castle.

Later this afternoon you enjoy a stop in Nice at the Chateau de Cremat for a winery tasting. Their grapes are organically grown high in the hills surrounding Nice. Their white wines come from Chardonnay and Rolle grapes and their red wines from Grenache and Folle Noire grapes. The site includes an historic chapel dating back to 1873. Today the chapel is used for receptions and wine tastings.
