Start your cruise with a private transfer from your Venice hotel to Ravenna cruise port. This is a two part journey: a private water taxi carries you from your hotel's canal landing to Piazzale Roma on the edge of Venice, since central Venice's canals are not reachable by car, then a private vehicle covers the remaining 90 miles (145km) by road to Porto Corsini. Your English speaking water taxi captain and driver handle both legs, so there is nothing for you to coordinate in between.

Your Route

About 2.5 hours total: private water taxi from your Venice hotel to Piazzale Roma, then 90 miles (145km) by private vehicle via the A13 motorway to Ravenna Cruise Port. Drive time on the road portion varies with traffic near Padova and the Ravenna port zone.

Timing Your Pickup

You do not need to calculate a meeting time yourself. We coordinate the water taxi pickup at your hotel with the drive to Ravenna so you arrive at the port in time for embarkation, and meeting instructions will be provided in advance.

Departing from Your Venice Hotel

Each person may bring one large suitcase and one personal item, such as a backpack or purse. If you have additional bags, oversized items, golf clubs, or mobility equipment, please contact us before booking so we can arrange the right vehicle. Water taxis have limited space for luggage, so please let us know your full bag count when booking.

Vehicle Types

This transfer uses both a private vehicle and a private water taxi. Vehicle size on the road portion is matched to your group, sedans for 1-2 passengers, minivans for 3-6, and minibuses for 7-8. All vehicles are air-conditioned, non-smoking, and licensed for private transport. The water taxi is operated by a professional English-speaking captain.

Total Transfer Time

Plan on approximately 2.5 hours total, combining the water taxi crossing to Piazzale Roma and the 90 mile (145km) road transfer to Ravenna, depending on traffic.

Ravenna - Guiamo our guide was the best! He was so knowledgeable and took time to interact with all of us based on our interests and questions. When we stopped at a cafe for a coffee and snack he jumped right in to help us order and make sure we got everything correct. The tour was exceptional and he gave an amazing restaurant recommendation reservation for lunch. Our driver was Roberto and traded cell phone numbers with us so we could call him when we were ready. He was very prompt and friendly.

We had a wonderful vacation. Every one of the tour guides were great. My family was really impressed with their knowledge, service, and friendliness. I was pleasantly surprised with how much better an experience we had compared to the Princess Cruise Ship Tours. For example, our tour guide for the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii knew that Pompeii was closed until 1130 AM and changed our itinerary to travel along the coast in the morning and go to Pompeii at the end of the day. The other tours just took people to the gate and waited for two hours.Thanks again. My wife and kids felt that each guide was a friend by the end of the tour. The guides in Florence and Ephesus were probably the highlight for us. The Mercedes vans that were used in most cities were always nice and all of our drivers were really great. Ive already recommended you to a friend.

I cant thank you enough for the excellent service. The private tours you arranged far exceeded any expectations. When we walked off the ship and saw our drivers waiting we all felt like Royalty.
