This Toulon shore trip
visits the famous city of Aix en Provence, which retains much of its unique character dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. You enjoy a driving tour, a visit to the old town and also some free time for lunch / exploration.
After meeting your driver guide at the pier in Toulon, you depart for Aix-en-Provence. Upon arrival, you enjoy a short driving tour of the city center including the Cours Mirabeau. This beautiful tree lined street is world famous and well known for its monumental fountain and popular cafes. You then pass through the Quarter Mazarin, with its unique 17th century chessboard pattern and many aristocratic townhouses with their Baroque facades and beautifully carved wooden doors.
Much of the old town, or Vieil Aix, is pedestrian-only and you will enjoy a walk through it. The labyrinth of narrow streets lead you to the 17th century Town Hall, the Archbishop's Palace, and St. Sauveur Cathedral with its delightful Romanesque cloister. Depending on the day of the week you might enjoy an open air flower market, a handcraft market or a flea market.
Some free time is permitted for you to stroll, do some shopping or enjoy a drink or quick lunch. After your visit is complete, your driver guide returns you to the pier in Toulon.Mobility
