This private tour starts in London or at Heathrow Airport and includes interior visits to Windsor Castle and Stonehenge before dropping you at the cruise pier in Southampton. After meeting your guide, you depart for Windsor Castle, about 23 miles (37km) from central London. Windsor is the world's oldest and largest occupied castle, and has been a residence of British monarchs for almost 1,000 years since William the Conqueror founded it in the 11th century. King Charles III spends much of his private time at Windsor and also uses the castle for ceremonial and state functions.
St George's Chapel sits within the castle grounds and is the spiritual home of the Order of the Garter, the oldest order of chivalry in the world. Founded in 1348, the Order today consists of the King, the Prince of Wales, and 24 Knight Companions. A typical visit to Windsor Castle includes the State Apartments, the Drawings Gallery, Queen Mary's Dolls' House, and St George's Chapel. Because Windsor remains a working royal residence, opening arrangements can change with little or no notice.
After the castle visit you have a short break in the town of Windsor for lunch (meal not included). From there you drive to Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's most studied prehistoric monuments, with construction beginning roughly 5,000 years ago. The stone circle stands on a plain in the countryside near Salisbury; walking among the stones gives a clear sense of their scale and the mystery that still surrounds their original purpose.
From Stonehenge, your driver continues to the pier in Southampton for your ship's departure.
