Delft and Beyond

This Rotterdam shore trip includes a visit to the Royal Delft Pottery Factory and a walking tour of medieval Delft, a lunch break at the North Sea beach resort of Scheveningen, and a driving tour of The Hague.

After meeting your guide you drive to the Royal Delft Pottery Factory. This factory is the only one remaining of roughly 32 earthenware factories established in Delft during the 17th century. You watch as artisans hand paint new pieces of this well known local craft. Following this visit you take a guided walking tour of medieval Delft, including a stop at the magnificent Market Square.

Late in the morning you head to the popular beach resort of Scheveningen. You can walk the long pier that extends out over the North Sea, or stroll the promenade lined with shops. There is also free time for lunch here (meal not included).

Later in the afternoon you take a driving tour of The Hague, the third largest city in the Netherlands and seat of the Dutch government. You see the Parliament House, the Queen's Palace, the International Court of Justice and more, and your guide explains the work carried out at the Peace Palace and the ICJ. At the end of the tour you are brought back to the port.
