Jurmala & Open-Air Museum Shore Excursion from Riga

This tour visits the famous resort town of Jurmala and also Riga's Open Air Museum where you have the opportunity to see and learn about rural life in Latvia.

After meeting your guide you immediately depart for Jurmala, which stretches along the Baltic Sea coast of Riga Bay and has been known since the 19th century as the Baltic Riviera. There are many popular cafes and shops which line the popular stunning white beaches. Jurmala is also a famous spa town. After a short orientation tour you have some time to stroll the promenade.

After visiting Jurmala you drive to the Riga Open Air Museum which is located at Lake Jugla about 30 minutes from the old town. The museum is spread out over nearly 90 hectares and features 118 traditional buildings, including farmsteads, churches, windmills and fishing villages, moved here from throughout the country and dating from the 17th century to the early 1930s. This allows you to see and learn about Latvia's rural past.
