TOUR DESCRIPTION

Monaco & Monte Carlo Shore Excursion from Antibes - 6 Hours

This 6-hour shore excursion from Antibes covers the most popular stops on the French Riviera: Monaco, Monte Carlo, and your choice of Nice or Eze.

After meeting your driver-guide at the pier, you drive along La Croisette in Cannes, the boulevard lined with five-star hotels, designer boutiques, and the Palais des Festivals, home of the Cannes Film Festival, before continuing through Antibes toward Nice.

Your route into Nice follows the seafront past the Baie des Anges, with the city's beach and its rows of belle epoque hotels lined up along the water. Because this is our shorter Riviera itinerary, you choose one of two directions here rather than doing both: the flower market and narrow lanes of Nice's old town on Cours Saleya, closed Mondays when an antiques and brocante market takes over instead, or the medieval hill village of Eze, built into the cliffs above the coast.

From Nice, the Lower Corniche road hugs the rocky coastline into the Principality of Monaco, where you have free time in the old town. The Prince's Palace holds a changing of the guard ceremony daily at 11:55am if your visit lines up with it, and Monaco Cathedral, resting place of Princess Grace of Monaco, is open to step inside (bare shoulders and shorts above the knee are not permitted). Your driver-guide then drives a stretch of the Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 circuit on the way into Monte Carlo, pointing out landmark corners like the Fairmont Hairpin, the slowest turn on the F1 calendar, before your final stop among Monte Carlo's casino, luxury hotels, and high-end car culture.

At the end of the tour, you return to Antibes along the Upper Corniche, the road that runs along the cliff tops above the sea.

Please note
  • During the Grand Prix Events there is a 50% supplement and it is not possible to visit Monaco or Monte Carlo from June 4-7, 2026. Please contact us if you are interested in a tour during this period.
  • About the Casino of Monte Carlo - The Casino of Monte Carlo is open to tourists for viewing from 10 AM until 12 noon. During this period the entry fee is 20 Euro per person and no gaming is open. From 2 PM onwards the casino is open to individuals (not tour groups) and a formal dress code is enforced. During this period an entry ticket is required to access the gaming areas, including the slots, craps and Black Jack tables. You must show your passport to buy the ticket, and 10 Euro of the ticket price is returned to use at the slot machines or at the bar. Everyone must be 18 years or older and have their passport available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Monaco Cathedral significant?
Monaco Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate, is the burial site of Princess Grace of Monaco (the actress Grace Kelly) and several generations of the ruling Grimaldi family. Its Romanesque-Byzantine style was completed in 1875.
What makes the Monaco Grand Prix circuit unique?
Unlike most Formula 1 races, the Monaco Grand Prix runs on the actual public streets of Monte Carlo, narrow and tightly curved, making it one of the most demanding and prestigious races on the calendar since it was first held in 1929.
Can we enter the Casino of Monte Carlo?
Yes, but access depends on timing. From 9 AM to noon, tourists can view the interior for a cash entry fee, though gaming is closed. From 2 PM, individual visitors (not tour groups) may access the gaming floor with formal dress code enforced; some rooms require a separate cash entry fee. All visitors must be 18 or older with a passport.
Do we choose Nice or Eze in advance, or decide that day?
You can let your driver-guide know your preference when you meet at the pier, though discussing it with us in advance is also welcome if you already know which you would rather see.

We thought the tour and the guide (Marcean) were great. He spoke very good English, we did not have any trouble understanding him. He was polite, personable, knowledgeable, informative, and his driving was excellent. We enjoyed our tour with him.
