Antibes Shore Excursion

This Antibes shore trip visits two of the most beautiful and charming Hilltop villages on the French Riviera. Your driver-guide takes you to St Paul de Vence, known for its art boutiques and medieval walls and Eze is known for its stunning views and quaint charm. You have time to explore each village and enjoy free time for lunch.

After meeting your driver-guide in Antibes you enjoy a scenic drive through the Riviera until you reach Eze. This typical French pedestrian-only medieval village is made up of tiny stone lanes and buildings. The village clings to the cliffs over 1000 feet above the sea.

There is time for you to walk to the top of the town's hill where a succulent garden offers amazing views of the sea far below. You can take some time to peak into the boutiques or enjoy an ice cream with a million dollar view.

Please note that you must leave the van at the base of the village and walk up a step hill into the town. This is not recommended for anyone with limited mobility. If you are not up to walking, you can however enjoy the scents of Provence at the nearby Fragonard perfume factory.

Later this morning you drive to St Paul de Vence. The van parks outside the medieval walls near some lovely cafes where you can enjoy a relaxing lunch while watching locals play the Provencal games of Boules or Petanque.

After lunch you can take a stroll on the cobblestone street of this popular hilltop Provencal town to enjoy the many art galleries and boutiques. This medieval jewel has long been known for its artists and it is where many painters and actors live today.

You can also walk on the town's medieval walls and into the old cemetery to see Chagall's resting place. If you are interested in modern art you can consider a stop at the Maeght Foundation Gallery or the Chapel of the Rosary.

At the end of this leisure Antibes shore excursion, your driver-guide will bring you back to the pier.

The idea of booking a tour outside of the cruise ship was scarry, but we are so glad that we did. Our south of France tour was by far the best excursion we did on the entire 12 day cruise. Our driver Pascal was very knowledgeable about the area and about Europe in general. His English was spectacular and seemed genuinely excited about his job. We cant thank you enough for helping us book this tour and we will definitely keep you in mind for the next time we go to Europe. By the way, when you have more people book tours in the South of France, I would definitely recommend letting them know that if they miss Eze, they will truely be missing out. Thanks again!

We loved our tour. Mary was awesome. She was very knowledgeable, personable, fun, helpful, and we loved her. The tour was so enjoyable and we got to see so much in a short time and really experience the local flavor of Cassis and Marseille.
