This private Porto tour visits the port wine region of the Douro Valley. The wine valleys of the Douro region provide some of the most spectacular scenery in all of Portugal. You enjoy a winery tour, tasting and lunch plus visit the charming town of Amarante.
After meeting your guide you start with a leisurely drive through Portugal's beautiful countryside en route to the wine country. The first stop will be in the charming town of Amarante. This ancient town is filled with fine Romanesque architecture. While you are there you will visit, the 16th century Monastery of Ṣo Goncalo which sits on the banks of the Tmega River. You also the chance to cross the lovely Roman Bridge.
Your next stop is in the Duoro Valley, which is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. You will visit Peso da Regua where you will experience an award winning winery. You will enjoy a guided tour of the winery following by a port wine tasting. While you are at the estate you will enjoy an included, impressive 3-course lunch consisting of Portuguese specialties.
At the end of the tour you are returned to Porto.
