This private six hour shore excursion from the Olbia cruise port is built for guests who want to see Porto Cervo and still have real free time to shop or relax. After meeting your licensed English speaking guide at the pier in Olbia, you drive to San Pantaleo, a hilltop artists' village known for its granite peaks, galleries and weekly outdoor market, for a photo stop overlooking the hills and the sea.
From San Pantaleo you continue into Porto Cervo. The Piazzetta, the small square at the heart of the village, was designed by architect Luigi Vietti, who began laying out the square and the surrounding village center in 1964 on commission from Prince Karim Aga Khan IV. Vietti also designed the nearby Cervo Hotel in 1962, using rounded forms and warm colors meant to be seen from the water as ships and yachts arrive in the marina. Your guide leads a walking tour through the Piazzetta and the marina, past the yachts and the boutiques that have made Porto Cervo one of the most exclusive resort towns in Italy.
After the walking tour, you have about two hours of free time to explore on your own. Porto Cervo's boutiques include Valentino, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Prada and Louis Vuitton, and there are restaurants around the Piazzetta for a relaxed lunch. When you are ready, your guide and driver return you to the ship in Olbia along the panoramic coastal road.
