Nice Shore Excursion

This Nice shore trip visits two of the most beautiful and charming Hilltop villages on the French Riviera. Your driver-guide takes you to St Paul de Vence, known for its art boutiques and medieval walls and Eze is known for its stunning views and quaint charm. You have time to explore each village and enjoy free time for lunch.

After meeting your driver-guide in Nice you enjoy a scenic drive through the Riviera until you reach Eze. This typical French pedestrian-only medieval village is made up of tiny stone lanes and buildings. The village clings to the cliffs over 1000 feet above the sea.

There is time for you to walk to the top of the town's hill where a succulent garden offers amazing views of the sea far below. You can take some time to peak into the boutiques or enjoy an ice cream with a million dollar view.

Please note that you must leave the van at the base of the village and walk up a step hill into the town. This is not recommended for anyone with limited mobility. If you are not up to walking, you can however enjoy the scents of Provence at the nearby Fragonard perfume factory.

Later this morning you drive to St Paul de Vence. The van parks outside the medieval walls near some lovely cafes where you can enjoy a relaxing lunch while watching locals play the Provencal games of Boules or Petanque.

After lunch you can take a stroll on the cobblestone street of this popular hilltop Provencal town to enjoy the many art galleries and boutiques. This medieval jewel has long been known for its artists and it is where many painters and actors live today.

You can also walk on the town's medieval walls and into the old cemetery to see Chagall's resting place. If you are interested in modern art you can consider a stop at the Maeght Foundation Gallery or the Chapel of the Rosary.

At the end of this leisure Nice shore excursion, your driver-guide will bring you back to the pier.

This was the best tour that we had on our cruise. There was a total of 6 couples and Greg took care of all of us with another driver too. He was understandable, courteous, and very knowledgeable of Monaco, Monte Carlo, Nice, & Eze. He was able to cover all of these sights within our timeline with the ship. The Norwegian Ship did not offer this excursion. Greg and his other driver stopped for many photo shoots. I would highly recommend

A million times THANK YOU!!! Working with you has been the greatest pleasure from our first communications with each other, all the way through to receiving your most welcome   Welcome Home   right on our first day home. Our trip was wonderful . . .gorgeous weather, magnificent sights, & the whole family (My husband, myself, two sons, & two daughters-in-law) got along beautifully. You cant ask for anything more, but we did get more! Every one of us said that our day with Max (the guide you had arranged for) was an absolute highlight! He was delightful to be with, he showed us everything that we had asked to see, plus so much more, and he managed to do it within the time allotted without ever making us feel rushed. The day was perfect. Not only will we be in touch the next time we go to Europe, but we will also make sure that everyone we know that is heading that way knows what a beautiful job Private Shore Trips does.
