Malaga, Spain - This tour includes a driving tour of Malaga, a walking tour of the old town and a visit to the Gibralfaro Castle. Then you travel along the Costa del Sol to visit the famous resort towns of Marbella and Puerto Banus.

Malaga is located on Spain's Costa del Sol, or coast of the sun. Many people visit here just to lie on the beach or enjoy the nightlife. The city was a Roman settlement which was later occupied by Arabs before they were expelled by the Spanish Catholics. It became a major port in the early days of the New World.

After meeting your private guide you start with a panoramic driving tour to see the city park of Malaga with its Customs building, the Small house of the Gardener, the bank of Spain and the City council. At General Torrijos Square you see the Noble Hospital and the Tres Gracias Fountain. Other sights include the Malagueta bull ring, the Justice Palace and the English cemetery.

Next you visit the Gibralfaro Castle which sits on the highest hill in the city and is connected to the Alcazaba Palace Fortress. Together this complex of buildings is the best preserved Arab monument in the city.

After visiting the castle you drive into Malaga's city center where you enjoy a walking tour of the historical old town. During your tour you will see the birth home of Picasso and the church where he was baptized, Santiago's Church, which is one of the oldest in the city. You will learn about General Torrijois at the monolith built in his honor as well as enjoy an interior visit to the city's Cathedral. Other sights included are the Roman Theater and the Arab Palace Fortress from the 11th century.

A short amount of free time is provided for lunch (meal not included)

Next you drive the Costa del Sol en route to the most famous resort town of Marbella. This resort is home to ultra deluxe hotels and millionaire's mansions. Upon arrival you will enjoy a short walking tour followed by some free time for you to stroll the famous beach front or do some shopping.

Almost as exclusive is Puerto Banus, your next stop. Again you enjoy a short walking tour followed by free time. It won't take long for you to enjoy the jet setters lifestyle. As you return to the port in Malaga you will see the Mosque and Sea Palace of the king of Saudi Arabia as well as pass other important resort towns such as Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Mijas to name a few.

We enjoyed our tours during our cruise to Spain and Italy!  All of your guides really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable at all times.  Maricio in Barcelona was our favorite though.  My mother couldnt walk towards the end of each day - so the drivers would take her back to the ship  while we marched on and then he came back for us!  Thank you for all the good work and Ill be contacting you again the next time we travel to Europe.  Do you do Asia as well  Ididtnt see this on the website.  We will be in Bangkok next year.

My friends and I have returned from our trip to Spain, and I just wanted to drop this note to thank you for all your help in setting up our shore excursions. We had a wonderful time on our vacation, and all the tours which we booked through Private Shore Trips were fantastic.  They were on point with their communication and we never had any problems finding our tour guides. The guides were also very friendly and knowledgeable. The transportation vehicles which were assigned to our group were very comfortable as well. I highly recommend your company to anyone who is interested in setting up a shore excursion.

The tours were GREAT! Thank you so much for all your patience, help and assistance. I also spoke to Joanne A. and their tour with you to Monaco, Eze, etc. was wonderful also. We ended up having extremely spacious busses and great drivers and guides at all of the stops. I am more than happy to continue to refer your company to my family and friends that are traveling in Europe. We do not have plans to return until late next summer but we may be in touch again at that time.
