Sintra, Cascais & Pena Palace Shore Excursion from LisbonThis full-day tour trades a Lisbon city morning for a drive along the Portuguese Riviera, a stretch of coast that has drawn European royalty and the wealthy for generations. Arriving in Sintra, you start with a walk through Pena Park before a visit to the National Pena Palace, the 19th century Romantic era palace built for King Ferdinand II and part of the UNESCO listed Cultural Landscape of Sintra. From the palace grounds you continue to Sintra's historic center, with free time to explore, shop, or have lunch on your own (meal not included); the National Palace of Sintra is also nearby if you would like to visit on your own (entry not included). In the afternoon, you leave the forested hills for the coast, driving through Sintra Natural Park and stopping at Cabo da Roca, the rocky headland marking the westernmost point of continental Europe, rising about 140 meters above the Atlantic. From there the drive follows the coastline to Guincho Beach, a wide stretch of sand popular with surfers, then past Boca do Inferno, a dramatic sea cave and cliff formation whose name translates to Hell's Mouth, on the way into the resort town of Cascais. You have time for a leisurely walk along Cascais's bay before continuing to Estoril, home to one of the largest casinos in Europe, on the return drive to Lisbon. Yes -- the Back-to-Ship Guarantee applies automatically to all Lisbon bookings. If a delay caused by our tour operator keeps you from returning to the ship on time, we'll arrange and cover your transportation to catch up with the ship at its next port of call. To qualify, your tour needs to be scheduled to return at least 1.5 hours before the ship's departure, and you'll need to be back at the vehicle for every agreed meeting time during the day. What's the deposit for a Lisbon shore excursion? Securing a Lisbon reservation takes a $50 deposit per tour. You'll pay the rest of the balance 30 days prior to the tour. If your plans change, that deposit isn't refundable, but it stays on your account as credit toward any tour for up to 3 years. Larger groups, custom itineraries, or tours involving flights or overnight stays may carry a bigger deposit and their own terms, which we'll spell out at booking. Can I get a refund if I cancel my Lisbon tour? Cancel a Lisbon tour 15 or more days out and you're refunded, minus a $50 administration fee. Once you're within 14 days of the tour, cancellations no longer qualify for a refund. One exception: if your ship simply doesn't call at Lisbon because of weather, mechanical issues, or political unrest, you'll get a full refund less the $50 fee. All cancellation requests need to be submitted in writing by email. How do I find my driver when I arrive in Lisbon? Cruise Ship: After leaving the ship at Lisbon, make your way to the main public exit of the terminal. Where a terminal building exists, pass through the arrivals area to the outside pickup area -- cruise staff can direct you. If there's no terminal building, your driver waits dockside. If you can't spot your contact immediately, stay put near your exit and call the local dispatch number in your confirmation.
Hotel: Your driver or guide will be waiting either just outside the main entrance or inside the lobby, sign in hand with your group's name.
Airport: Once you've collected your luggage and cleared customs, head into the arrivals hall -- your driver or guide will be there holding a sign with your group name. A few attractions require timed skip-the-line tickets, which turn non-refundable as soon as they're bought -- we'll let you know about any of these at booking.
