Lisbon Shore Excursion

This Lisbon shore trip explore the enchanting village of Sintra. You will see mystical palaces and forests and visit the National Pena Palace, a Moorish castle which will make you feel as if you have stepped into a magical fairy tale. There is also some free time for lunch in Sintra or we can add a stop in Cabo da Roca.

When you arrive in Sintra you start your visit with a walk through the Pena Park to discover secret caves and trails. Then a highlight of the tour is a visit to the the National Pena Palace, listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The castle dates from the 19th century and is one of the most important examples of Portuguese architecture from the Romantic period. This palace is the most visited site in Portugal.

Next you visit the historical center of Sintra where you’ll have some free time to explore, shop and enjoy a light lunch (meal not included in the price).

The tour ends with a drive through the natural wonders of the Sintra Natural Park, passing by several impressive palaces such as Quinta da Regaleira, Seteais and Monserrate.

Based on timing at the Palace and lunch there may be time for a stop at the Cabo da Roca viewpoint for stunning views of the cliffs and the sea.

Note: To avoid long lines it is best to choose an 8:00 or 8:30 AM start time if possible.
