Isafjordur Shore Excursion
This
Isafjordur shore trip visits one of Iceland's most spectacular waterfalls and includes a drive through some of the most stunning landscapes of the Westfjords. There is also a stop in a historic town to enjoy light refreshments.
After meeting your guide at the pier you immediately start your journey to Dynjandi, the majestic icon of the Westfjords. Upon arrival you enjoy a stop to enjoy the wonderful views, and listen to the soothing sound of Dynjandi tumbling down the mountain in a series of seven waterfalls. The top tier of falls is the most impressive but each one of the other six is unique in its own right. It is highly recommend that you do the easy hike up to the top tier for a magnificent view.
On the way back towards you stop in the historic town of Hrafnseyri where you can enjoy light refreshments, explore the traditional turf houses and church or visit the museum dedicated to Iceland's independence hero Jon Sigurosson who was born in Hrafnseyri.
You will enjoy the fantastic landscape of the Westfjords all throughout the tour.
Note: Even if you are visiting in the middle of summer, please wear warm clothing. Waterproof hiking boots or similar shoes are recommended as you will be walking on trails that can get wet from the overspray of the waterfall.
