TOUR DESCRIPTION

Invergordon Shore Excursion - This tour travels along the beautiful Loch Ness and includes a visits two of the Scottish Highlands castles; Urquhart Castle and Cawdor Castle. You also enjoy a cruise on Loch Ness and some free time in the town of Inverness.

After meeting your guide in Invergordon you start your scenic, passing over the Moray Firth on the Kessock Bridge. Your first stop is the Cawdor Castle, which dates back to the 14th century. You tour the castle visiting rooms such as the Tapestry Bedroom, the Drawing Room, the Old Kitchen, the Dining Room and more. You see period furnishings and art giving you insight to times past. If the castle is not impressive enough, there are three lovely gardens on the site!

Next you have free time in the town of Inverness, regarded as the capital of the Highlands of Scotland. While you are here you can enjoy lunch in a typical Scottish pub.

After lunch you board a cruise at the Clansman Harbor. You cruise along Loch Ness enjoying some of Scotland's most scenic countryside.

You will disembark the ship at the Urquhart Castle, which was once one of the largest castles in Scotland. This castle was built in the 1230s on a strategic spot with the cold waters of Loch Ness located on three sides of the site. In 1296 the English seized the castle and then in 1545 it was sacked by the MacDonald Lords of the Isles. Finally, in 1689 the castle gate was blown up with gun powder by its own government soldiers so that the Jacobite rebels could not use it. After that it was never used again and fell into ruins. Today the castle is owned by "Historic Scotland" and you can tour the castle ruins, castle tower and its modern visitors center which contains an array of medieval artifacts found at the site.

During the day your guide will share some of the many legends of Loch Ness.

I was just thinking of e-mailing you, the tours were fantastic! All the tour guides we had were knowledgeable and enjoyable to be with. The drivers were very professional. Clouda (not sure if thats proper spelling) was our guide in County Kerry, she went out of her way to show us things the kids would enjoy which made it so wonderful. Jordan our driver was excellent. And Graham with the Scotland tour company took us to special filming spots after we shared we are outlander fans. Ricky and Christine from the Scotland tours company were excellent too. We had so much fun and will def be booking with you all again! I can write reviews online too if that helps. Thanks for your help!

All the tours you arranged for us were wonderful, with the exception of the one for June 14 for InvergordonInverness. The weather had typhon winds and the ship was unable to dock the day. I remembered you had a guaranty the ship was not able to make the port (one of the reasons I book with you). Let me know if you need more info from me to credit my card for the missed tour.
