This
private Amsterdam shore trip focuses on Anne Frank's short life her in Amsterdam. You will learn about the city's Golden Age and darker history during the German occupation. A focal point of this tour is a visit to the home where Anne Frank and her family hid until their capture.
After meeting your private transfer at the pier, you drive into the city center where you meet your local guide for an Amsterdam walking tour. During the walking tour your guide will set the scene of Amsterdam before and during World War II. As you walk along canals and narrow streets, the tour weaves together the city’s Golden Age beauty with the darker history of the Nazi occupation, stopping at meaningful sites connected to Jewish life and resistance.
The walk leads toward the Jordaan neighborhood, passing former hiding places, memorials, and everyday locations that help bring Anne Frank’s story into a broader human context. The tour includes a visit of the Anne Frank House, where the guide explains the significance of the building and the years Anne and her family spent in hiding inside the Secret Annex.
Guides are not allowed to provide commentary inside of the house so you visit on your own. The visit provides a powerful and somber look into the events that took place at this historic site.
At the end of the Anne Frank House visit, you have some free time before meeting your driver for the transfer back to the pier in Ijmuiden.
