This option packs in as many of Warsaw's top sites as possible into a single Best of Warsaw tour. You enjoy a walking tour of the Old Town, a driving tour of the city's monuments, and a visit to Royal Lazienki Park with the Palace on the Water.
Your guide meets you at your hotel and you depart for the rebuilt Old Town, where you take a walking tour to see sites such as Castle Square with the Royal Castle and Zygmunt Column, the Old Town Market Place, St. John's Archcathedral, and the Barbican. For most visitors, this area of Warsaw is a highlight in itself.
Next you enjoy a driving tour of the city, passing many of the memorials to those who died during WWII, including the Warsaw Uprising Monument. You travel along the Royal Route, where you see the Presidential Palace, the University of Warsaw, and the Holy Cross Church, which holds the urn containing the heart of Polish composer Frederic Chopin. In the modern part of Warsaw, you see the Palace of Culture and Science and some of Europe's newest skyscrapers.
You end your tour with a visit to Royal Lazienki Park. This is by far the most attractive park in Warsaw and one of the largest palace parks in Europe, developed in the late 18th century around the summer residence of Stanislaw August Poniatowski, the last King of Poland. In the park you will see the Chopin Monument, also the site of many outdoor music festivals in the summer months. You visit the Palace on the Water, the king's former summer residence. This Neoclassical palace straddles a pond, its facade reflected in the water. Highlights include the Golden Ballroom, where royal parties took place, and the historic dining room where the king hosted his invited guests each week for what became known as his "Thursday dinners."
At the end of the tour, you are brought back to your hotel.
