Monaco & Monte Carlo Shore Excursion from Savona

This full day shore trip visits the Old Town of Monaco and also the thriving modern city of Monte Carlo. You have the chance to see the Prince's Palace, the burial place of Princess Grace, and the famous Casino of Monte Carlo. The drive from Savona covers about 105 km (65 miles) each way along the Italian and French Riviera.

After meeting your driver and an English speaking tour leader, you drive along Italy's northern coast. You enter France at the town of Menton before arriving in Monaco. Your first stop is the old town of Monaco. Here you'll have a chance to see the changing of the guards in front of the Prince's Palace and Saint Nicholas Cathedral, built between 1875 and 1903 on the site of a church dating to 1252, where Princess Grace is buried alongside Prince Rainier. Time is available to walk along the tiny streets, do some shopping and enjoy lunch.

Next you'll follow the path of the legendary Grand Prix of Monte-Carlo Formula 1 circuit. A stop in the modern city of Monte Carlo lets you see designer shops, luxury hotels, and the Casino de Monte-Carlo, founded in 1863 and later expanded by Charles Garnier, the architect of the Paris Opera.

After Monaco and Monte Carlo you return to Savona.
