Sanary-Sur-Mer Shore Excursion

This Sanary-Sur-Mer shore trip visits the famous city of Aix en Provence where you enjoy a driving tour and a visit to the old town. Then in the afternoon you visit the wine country and enjoy an included wine tasting!

After meeting your guide at the pier in Sanary-Sur-Mer, you depart for Aix-en-Provence. Upon arrival, you enjoy a driving tour of the city center including the Cours Mirabeau. This beautiful tree lined street is world famous and well known for its monumental fountain and popular cafes. You then pass through the Quarter Mazarin, with its unique 17th century chessboard pattern and many aristocratic townhouses with their Baroque facades and beautifully carved wooden doors.

Much of the old town, or Vieil Aix, is pedestrian-only and you will enjoy a walk through it. The labyrinth of narrow streets lead you to the 17th century Town Hall, the Archbishop's Palace, and St. Sauveur Cathedral with its delightful Romanesque cloister.

While you are in Aix en Provence, you have free time for lunch in one of the popular cafes along Cours Mirabeau.

Aix en Provence was founded by the Romans and they have grown wine for years in the nearby surroundings. A short drive from Aix and you will find yourself in the wine country near the Saint Victoire Mountains. Included in the tour is the opportunity to taste a Côtes de Provence labeled wine and also a Coteaux d'Aix Appellation, making it a perfect afternoon in the French countryside!

After your wine tasting you return to the pier in Sanary-Sur-Mer.

This was the best tour that we had on our cruise. There was a total of 6 couples and Greg took care of all of us with another driver too. He was understandable, courteous, and very knowledgeable of Monaco, Monte Carlo, Nice, & Eze. He was able to cover all of these sights within our timeline with the ship. The Norwegian Ship did not offer this excursion. Greg and his other driver stopped for many photo shoots. I would highly recommend

This is the first time I booked with Private Shore Trips and I would strongly recommend them to anyone who wants to deal with true professionals that provide you with total peace of mind, whether it is regarding pre-trip planning or post-trip customer support. My husband and I went on a 2 shore excursions from Marseille into some of the towns.  It was really nice and the guides were very friendly.

MarseilleAvignon.  Another great excursion. Mary Helen, the owner of the excursion company, included a guide for us in Avignon.  The guide rode in one van from Marseille to Avignon but returned on her own.  Quite the talker.  We did not have to pay for her services but we did have to pay her guide entry fee which was 25 Euros.  We were able to expedite our entrance because we had a guide.  Well worth the 25 Euros.  With the extra 30 minutes added to the itinerary, we had just enough time at Pont du Gard.  I wouldnt mind going back to enjoy the river and float under the aquaduct.  I was amazed by all the swimmers and kayakers in the river.

We had an amazing time on our tours of St. Tropez and Sanary-sur-Mer. I would like to give a special mention to our guide Davi in St. Tropez. l He was just so knowledgeable, courteous and on time.  Highly recommended!

I want to thank you and your organization for making our family reunion cruise a success. Each and every one of our 9 trips was perfect. Your staff in Lisbon, Barcelona, Marseille, and Villefranche were excellent and very knowledgeable. The guidesdrivers were terrific with suggestions to keep the children in our group happy yet satisfy the adults. I truly appreciated your flexibility. Working with our group of 24 was a challenge and you rose to the occasion, especially when you alerted us to the cruise line change in itinerary saving our day trips. I particularly want to thank you for arranging the Flamenco Dancer Dinner and the birthday surprise for my 7 year old daughter. They took her on stage and had her dance with them. What an experience! I recommend your organization highly and without reservations. Thank you making our vacation perfect.
