TOUR DESCRIPTION

Panoramic London

This private panoramic London experience includes a vehicle with a driver to take you past some of London's most recognizable landmarks. It is an affordable way to see the city from a private vehicle without a guide's narration.

The tour begins with pickup from your central London hotel. You enjoy a relaxed driving tour with photo stops at landmarks including Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London. St Paul's Cathedral, rebuilt after the Great Fire of London in 1666 to a design by Sir Christopher Wren, is famous for its dome, one of the largest cathedral domes in the world and a fixture of the London skyline for over 300 years.

Your driver is not a guide, but a knowledgeable local who navigates the city efficiently and brings you to as many of these locations as possible during your time out. As this is a flexible driving itinerary, the exact sites visited depend on traffic conditions, timing and how long you choose to spend at each stop; guests often linger for photos at Buckingham Palace or the Tower of London, which may naturally reduce the number of additional sites included.

After exploring the highlights of the city, your driver returns you to your London hotel. This tour is well suited to guests who want an efficient overview of London's top sites from the comfort of a private vehicle, while still stepping out for photos along the way.

Please note
  • Folding wheelchairs are welcome, though some areas on this tour may not be fully accessible. Please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tour include a guide?
No. This tour includes a private vehicle and driver only, without a guide's historical narration, which keeps the price lower than our guided driving tours.
Can I ask the driver to spend more time at certain landmarks?
Yes. The driver will offer suggestions and adjust pacing, but the exact stops and time spent at each depend on your preferences, traffic and the overall 4-hour window.
Who designed St Paul's Cathedral and why was it rebuilt?
St Paul's Cathedral was rebuilt after the Great Fire of London destroyed the earlier medieval cathedral in 1666. Architect Sir Christopher Wren designed the current building, completed in the early 1700s, and its dome remains one of the largest cathedral domes in the world.

Again, Private Shore Trips did not disappoint. Been using them since 2009. Steven is so great to work with - and his team of tour guides all over Europe have been amazing. This time we used them in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast. David in London, Ricky in Edinburgh, Ricky and Graeme in Glasgow and Paul in Belfast. All were personable, friendly, very knowledgeable, and flexible.

Sorry for the delay in replying.. I was not getting emails However, as you can tell by my replying, Im back successfully  --- I did hear from the local operators early on that morning and the return transfer to Heathrow worked like a charm.   In fact, we got on the road at 630 am exactly and were at Heathrow by 820 --- plenty of time for everyone to check in comfortably.     I think the only issue was the Hotel to Port transfer.    THANKFULLY, I requested to have the transfer pick up time a little earlier.  As it happened, traffic (as always for London) factored in and they were more than half an hour late.. For that group movement,  I think they may have misunderstood how the passenger counts were supposed to be ---- they thought the 8-pax mini van was solely for luggage.  It was uncomfortable with them squeezing bags in the 30-pax coach and the leftover in the other vehicle.  As it happened, we sent one person in that car with the driver and every seat  including the jump seat usually reserved for a tour guide  was filled on the coach.    Traffic was still an issue and it ended up being over 90 minutes before we even reached the highway --- London is so big and the roads are all city driving until you can access the main system out of the city.  Was nerve-wracking --- but, silver lining --- the huge global snafu with the system effected countless people, including those (not related to us!) arriving for the cruise and who still had to travel from the airports..  this chain reaction allowed for the cruise line to delay sailing in order to wait for the late-comers.  Our group arrived around 330 which was remarkable, seeing how much time we consumed just in getting there.     That was the only hiccup. Our guided sightseeing tour of London was wonderful --- Konrad, our Blue Badge Guide --- absolutely fantastic  did a great job for us --- everyone who participated in the tour loved it and commented very favorably.    Despite iffy weather reports, we dodged rain the entire trip except for brief sprinkles  not bad for England, Scotland , Iceland and especially Ireland.   I want to mention that I appreciated the contact between the local operators and me. I received text and phone messages as needed, which is a huge relief  instead of waiting around and not sure who youre looking for ---- this eased my nerves and enabled me to communicate more comfortably with my group members. Thank you so very much for helping with the arrangements.      Except for the little snafu with the first transfer  which was resolved  all else went like clockwork.

We have been using your services for several years now and as usual every stop was perfect. Uniformly all stops this year were excellent. There were two highlights I need to mention. Our guide Hakan in Stockholm was simply the best I have ever had in 15 years of travel. He had all from the 9 year old to the 85 year old enthralled. Our guide Klavs in Copanhagan was the second best guide ever. He is a retired gentleman who went back to train as a guide. He offered so much more in the way of experience and perspective. I can not recommend him highly enough. He accessed the group on our initial meeting and said lets make a few minor changes which were super. We had lunch on the coast. Hit sites not planned and still hit all the planned sites. He took us off the beaten track to a Boy Scout camp where the scouts had a complete replica of a working Viking village. What a hit for us to really see how they lived and to put it all into perspective. Kids climbed and explored everything.

Just returned from London yesterday. Just wanted to let you know that all went well and the guides were outstanding. Had a fabulous time and looking forward to working with you again. The guides were very professional and on time. One was 30 minutes late, but we forgave him... He turned out to be a very good guide. I think it was in Belfast. Leaving for Honolulu for the month of August Wed, so have a lot to do before that date. Thanks again.
