La Spezia Shore Excursion

This full day shore La Spezia shore trip visits the stunningly beautiful Cinque Terre. You will travel by vehicle, train and or boat between some of the most charming villages in the world. The Cinque Terre is a bucket list destination for people around the globe.

The Cinque Terre, or Five Lands, is one of Italy's most idyllic seaside cluster of villages. The Cinque Terre is now a National Park that encompasses about 10 miles of the rocky coastline. Within the park are five villages tucked away in small inlets or perched on rocky promontories.

Time has stood still for these five villages; Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Until the last hundred years they were not even accessible by car or train, but only by boat or foot paths. As a result the residents adapted to their natural surroundings. Buildings start at the sea and climb the cliffs towards the sky, and terraced hills have been cultivated with vineyards and olive groves.

After meeting your guide and driving to the Cinque Terre, your first stop is the village of Manarola. You'll enjoy a walk of the enchanting village with its tiny fisherman's wharf. Next you board a boat (weather permitting) or the train and depart for Vernazza.

In Vernazza you have free time to explore the local shops and enjoy lunch (meal not included) as you marvel at this picturesque village huddled around its small harbor.

Later this afternoon you take another boat (or train) to Monterosso al Mare. After a short walk you have free time again to explore. Consider sampling the local lemon liqueur or visiting one of the wine tasting rooms.

After you visit Monterosso you walk to the nearby car park where the vehicle is waiting to take you back to La Spezia.

Mobility: NO wheelchairs

Just wanted to thank you for expedited reservation and amazing experience during all excursions. We liked all driversguides, however Umberto and Luca stood out as phenomenal. Umberto has so much knowledge about everything and we not only saw but learned a lot about many different topics. Luca was very helpful and consciences about my disability and needs. I will make comment on your web site but this was one of the best experiences we had. We even talked to other people who took Disney excursions and they told us we were lucky to have the private tour when we told them about our experience. I am so thankful to you and your associates in Europe for making our trip a huge success and something we will always remember. I have already recommended your service to one of my friend and hope to spread the word.

I am happy to let you know that of our entire 15 day cruise throughout the Mediterranean, our day in the Cinque Terre was the highlight of our vacation. Everyone in our family agreed that the guide you provided us with, Gabriele, was one of the best we experienced. His passion for, and knowledge of, the Cinque Terre left us wanting to spend more time in what has to be one of the most beautiful and interesting places weve ever visited. We also thoroughly enjoyed our cooking lesson and lunch at the Buranco farm. Laurie (sp) was a great host and lots of fun to spend time with. Whenever circumstances (and budget...) allow we know that the Cinque Terre is a place to which well want to return. We cant thank you enough for providing us with a set of memories well cherish for a long time. I would be happy to provide referrals to anyone asking about Private Shore Trips. You guys are the best.

We had a great trip, the weather was perfect and the sights were amazing! Adam was our guide in Villefranche. He brought us to a beautiful town with an amazing view (cant remember the name!) way up the mountain, and then to Monaco at the end of our day. It was the day after the Grand Prix so it was very congested there, but he made the trip pleasant. He was very nice but the other guides were more chatty during the drive between sights. Of course, he answered all of our questions. Matthew was our guide in Florence and was very informative all the way there and back. The lines at the Academia museum were like Disneyland, so it was refreshing when we could walk right in, because of the reservations that were made in advance. I did bring the confirmation of the payment for those, which came in handy since they did try to charge us again. All was resolved quickly when I showed them the confirmation. He directed us to a jewelry store to purchase a souvenier or two, and they were most helpful. I am sure they were eager to sell to us an item to bring back home too! Anthony was our guide in Naples and was WONDERFUL! He brought us to Sorrento and Positano, and stopped a few times to point out beautiful sights along the way, and gave us some history of the area. He made us feel as if we had come to visit he and his family! Of course, the stop at a restaurant in Positano where they served us what was picked out of their garden that day was the highlight of the day! The food was wonderful and the view fabulous. I would absolutely refer you to someone traveling abroad. Having someone meet us at the ship and deliver us safely back was great and we didnt feel part of a herd with the tours from the ship!

Cinque Terre was beautiful although there was not a possibility of any boat views as tickets for the train had already been purchased. No mention as to the boat which was a possibility as you mentioned. The trains were convenient and we did a short hike up the trail for beautiful views. The tour was fantastic and our guide was lovely. The only problem though no ones fault is that 11 of us were stuck in an elevator for 40 minutes in the extreme heat! The Italian police and emergency response team were absolutely no help. Fortunately my husband and a few others went to the top and we were able to open the door one inch to allow for air. If that did not happen Im not sure we would have made it. When the Italian police got there to open the door they only took pictures of us! Ridiculous! Our lovely guide (who was in the elevator with us) was able to have the vans come to us to transport us back to the ship. Our guide did what she could under the circumstances and we tipped her well for the day as Im sure she did not expect the day to be so chaotic.
