TOUR DESCRIPTION

La Rochelle Shore Excursion

This full day La Rochelle tour visits Cognac, the most famous brandy region in France. While you are there you will visit the Remy Martin and Hennessy wineries for tours and tastings. There is also free time for lunch in the historic town of Cognac.

After meeting your driver-guide at the La Rochelle pier, you depart for the Cognac vineyards in the Charente region. This area is located northeast of Bordeaux and has been producing brandy for over 300 years.

Once you are in Cognac you will enjoy both morning and afternoon visits to tour the Remy Martin and Hennessy wineries. Your visits will include tours of the facility where you learn about the grape varieties, the fermentation and blending process of making Brandy before you have the enjoyment of tasting several different kinds of brandy produced by the House of Cognac.

At Hennessy you enjoy their Initiation experience with tastings of Hennessy V.S and Hennessy V.S.O.P. Then at Remy Martin you enjoy a tour of the property followed by a tasting of their 1738 Accord Royal Cognac, served with a small delicacy. As a small bonus you can keep the tasting glass as a memory.

Some people ask what is the difference between brandy and Cognac. In fact Cognac is a specific type of brandy which can only be produced in this very small region. Requirements also say that it must be double-distilled in both a copper pot and then aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of two years.

There will be free time in the historic town of Cognac for you to enjoy lunch on your own.

At the end of this La Rochelle shore trip you will be brought back to La Rochelle pier.

Thank you for contact me.  We all had a great time with your company.  We found your guides to be ontime and the vehicles were clean and perfect and the AC worked!  We did take a ship tour Palma and that was aweful - especially after being spoiled with private tours in Italy, Spain and France.  Our 17 day sailing went very smooth.   Ill write a nice review on trip advisor.  The guide in La Rochelle was the most wonderful lady.  She was a sommelier and she had us tasting the best wines.

The Bilbao guide was very personable, and her English was good. We enjoyed Bilbao although we did not get to tour the Guggenheim solely because the couple we were with were not up to it. The tour in Bordeaux was even better - primarily the trip to St. Emilion. Our driver took us to a wine broker who gave us a very interesting tour of a small vineyard and wine making and storage facilities. Upon our return to Bordeaux, we met a sweet young guide who gave us a walking tour of a small part of Bordeaux. Her English was pretty good and we enjoyed the tour although we didnt cover much of the city.

My clients just returned from their trip. They were extremely happy with both tours you set up for them. They said their guides in Sevilla were fantastic and they really enjoyed the winery tour in Bordeaux. They also enjoyed the restaurant that you set up dinner reservations for. Thanks again for all your help and I will be in touch again soon for new requests!
