Dubrovnik Shore Excursion

This half day Dubrovnik shore trip provides the most scenic views of Dubrovnik. You ride a cable car 1200 feet above sea level to get the best photos of Dubrovnik. Then you enjoy a walking tour of the old town and a short amount of free time.

Your private guide will meet you at the pier to begin your exploration. First you ride the cable car which takes you high above the city for amazing panoramic views of Dubrovnik's city walls, ancient rooftops, picturesque buildings, the sea and the surrounding mountains. Get your camera ready!

When you return from the cable car you drive to the city's Pile Gate where the statue of the city's patron St. Blaise welcomes you. From here you began to explore Dubrovnik on foot walking along the city's main promenade which is paved with marble and lined with store fronts and caf̩s.

On your tour you will visit the Franciscan monastery which was built in the Romanesque-Gothic style and considered to be an architectural masterpiece. Inside the monastery you visit a pharmacy which opened its doors in 1317, making it the oldest operating pharmacy in all of Europe.

Next you visit the baroque Cathedral and its Treasury. The current cathedral was finished in 1671 to replace a Romanesque Cathedral which was destroyed in the Great Earthquake of 1667. The main altar features a painting of The Assumption by Titian (1552). The Cathedral Treasury is known for its collection of 138 reliquaries, most of which are traditionally carried in procession around the city on the feast of St. Blaise (February 3rd).

Before your Dubrovnik shore excursion is over, you enjoy a short amount of free time to stop in a shop or enjoy an ice cream.
