However your walking tour is in the charming Old Town of Zadar which is situated on a peninsula, and its history dates back to the 9th century. Much of the city was built in Roman times and that is evidence by the ruins seen today. However the area is more medieval in style today and shows a large influence from the Venetians who were here for several centuries.
After meeting your guide, you drive from the pier to the old town of Zadar. You enter the old town on foot through one of the old gates that still has a Venetian lion statue.
