TOUR DESCRIPTION

Corfu Panoramic Shore Excursion

This Corfu shore trip focuses on beautiful views from several vantage points, showing you the natural beauty of the most lush of the Greek islands. A refreshment stop is included to sample the local liqueur.

After meeting your private licensed guide you begin your panoramic journey of Corfu, an island that stands out from most other Greek islands for how lush and richly forested it is, the result of centuries of cultural influence layered onto natural beauty.

First you travel along the scenic west coast to the hilltop village of Lakones, known as Bella Vista. This impressive location offers spectacular views over the Bay of Paleokastritsa, its emerald waters and unusual rock formations. In the distance sits the Monastery of Panagia Paleokastritsa, founded in 1225 and rebuilt several times over the centuries after being destroyed by the Genoese in 1403 and by the Turks in 1537, serenely overlooking this popular bay.

Next you drive inland through the scenic village of Makrades, the Troumbetta Pass and the village of Scripero, leading through the fertile Ropa Valley.

Your next stop is at a distillery producing an island favorite, Koum Kouat liqueur. There is time for tasting this specialty along with fruit glace.

After this refreshing stop you start the trip back to Corfu town. Along the way a short stop is made at Kanoni, named for the old cannons still in place that once protected the harbor entrance. This vantage point offers wonderful views of the bay with Mouse Island and its little chapel clearly visible. Once in the town of Corfu you can decide if you want to stay and explore the Esplanade on your own or return to the pier or your hotel.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, our Corfu tours and Corfu Shore Excursions can also be customized to fit your needs. What a great time all of us had. Mostly because of our tours with the people you booked us with. I cant say enough about our tours, guides, drivers and vehicles...All of us were impressed with each of them and have already recommended your company to people we know who have upcoming trips to Europe. Plans are being drawn up for our next trip in 2 years..I must admit I was afraid something would go wrong, and being the one in charge of the bookings all of the blame would fall on me if one of the tours didnt show up...Well what a hoot when we got off the boat in all 3 places and there was my name on the bus....Once again thank you for all of your help

Ken Diaz the Group Reservation Manager of Private Shore Trips organized an amazing set of tourstransportation events for our group of 42 friends and family in MULTIPLE countries! Yes Italy, Greece & Turkey!! Or tour guides provided excellent connections with the entire group and gave a dissertation on the history of each location we visited. We had teachers in our group and they were impressed with the tour guides that says a lot!

All of our tours were just fantatic.  In Athens, the Acropolis was simply awesome and we had a wonderful time in the Plaka.  I wish we could have had lunch in one of those roof top bars.  That would have been awesome.  In Katakolon, the farm you recommended was so nice, peaceful and the hosts were so welcoming.  The other tours in Greece were great but those were the highlights for us.  Thank you also for telling the guide to walk slowly - my mother appreciated it.

We just got back in Venice and on our way to Rome. The shore excursions went very well. The local guides were good and flexible to the needs of the group as some have mobility issues. Thank you for the good service. Rest assured that we will highly recommend your company to our friends. Till our next trip, Best regards,
