TOUR DESCRIPTION

Achillion Palace & Corfu Walking Shore Excursion

This Corfu shore trip includes the famous Achillion Palace combined with a walking tour of the town of Corfu. As a bonus, a panoramic photo stop overlooking the bay is included.

After meeting your private licensed guide you leave the city and drive into the fertile area of orange and lemon groves until you reach the Achillion Palace. This Neo-Classical villa was built between 1889 and 1891 for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, known as Sisi, who used it as a summer retreat. Her daughter later sold it to German Emperor Wilhelm II in 1907. The gardens are adorned with statues and the views over the densely wooded countryside are magnificent.

After your tour of the palace you drive to the town of Corfu. On the way you enjoy a photo stop at a vantage point known as Kanoni, named for the old cannons still in place that once protected the harbor entrance, which offers wonderful views of the bay with Mouse Island and its little chapel clearly visible.

Once in the town of Corfu your guide leads a short walking tour along the famed Esplanade, past the cricket pitch, and includes the Church of St. Spiridon, the patron saint of Corfu. After your walking tour you can choose to remain in town on your own or be driven back to your hotel or the pier.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, our Corfu tours and Corfu Shore Excursions can also be customized to fit your needs. If you have a larger group, we can offer you a private Corfu tour using a mid-size bus or full size coach. Please contact us with any questions or to receive a customized quote.

What a great time all of us had. Mostly because of our tours with the people you booked us with. I cant say enough about our tours, guides, drivers and vehicles...All of us were impressed with each of them and have already recommended your company to people we know who have upcoming trips to Europe. Plans are being drawn up for our next trip in 2 years..I must admit I was afraid something would go wrong, and being the one in charge of the bookings all of the blame would fall on me if one of the tours didnt show up...Well what a hoot when we got off the boat in all 3 places and there was my name on the bus....Once again thank you for all of your help

Ken Diaz the Group Reservation Manager of Private Shore Trips organized an amazing set of tourstransportation events for our group of 42 friends and family in MULTIPLE countries! Yes Italy, Greece & Turkey!! Or tour guides provided excellent connections with the entire group and gave a dissertation on the history of each location we visited. We had teachers in our group and they were impressed with the tour guides that says a lot!

All of our tours were just fantatic.  In Athens, the Acropolis was simply awesome and we had a wonderful time in the Plaka.  I wish we could have had lunch in one of those roof top bars.  That would have been awesome.  In Katakolon, the farm you recommended was so nice, peaceful and the hosts were so welcoming.  The other tours in Greece were great but those were the highlights for us.  Thank you also for telling the guide to walk slowly - my mother appreciated it.

We just got back in Venice and on our way to Rome. The shore excursions went very well. The local guides were good and flexible to the needs of the group as some have mobility issues. Thank you for the good service. Rest assured that we will highly recommend your company to our friends. Till our next trip, Best regards,
