Katakolon / Olympia Shore Excursion - This private shore trip enjoys a winery tour and tasting with local snacks at the Mercouri Winery followed by free time on Kourouta Beach where you can enjoy the sea, or if you prefer, have time for shopping in the village.

After meeting your guide you enjoy a pleasant drive through the scenic countryside of the Peloponnese. After passing typical quaint villages you arrive at the estate of one of the oldest families in the area. The owners happily greet their guests in a warm and friendly manner serving coffee and soft drinks before setting out on a guided tour of the vast grounds surrounding their manor.

The estate has been in the hands of the present owners for four generations. Since the early days the family has been active in producing fragrant wines by cultivating cuttings imported from Italy, namely the Refosco grape. The tour shows how, over time, the winery has blended a combination of old and modern wine techniques and equipment to produce wines that have successfully matured to reach exportation standards.

Not only are you shown the cellars and the traditional family museum you will also have the opportunity to visit the forest and vineyards. The border of the estate reaches a vantage point which overlooks the sea and the island of Zakinthos is visible.

Upon returning to the main building of the manor, you have the opportunity to sample the wines, local cheeses and a variety of snacks from the small but eloquent buffet under the cooling pine trees.

Next you will proceed to Kourouta beach for swimming, lunch or any other activity you wish. The large sandy beach is in a populated area and stretches the length of 12 miles and has a breadth of about 120 feet. The vegetation of the area consists mainly of deciduous trees and shrubs. After your visit to Kourouta beach you will return to the pier in Katakolon.

All of our tours were just fantatic. In Athens, the Acropolis was simply awesome and we had a wonderful time in the Plaka. I wish we could have had lunch in one of those roof top bars. That would have been awesome. In Katakolon, the farm you recommended was so nice, peaceful and the hosts were so welcoming. The other tours in Greece were great but those were the highlights for us. Thank you also for telling the guide to walk slowly - my mother appreciated it.

Thank you so much for working with me on changing the itinerary. It was the absolute perfect day. Our guide Michaela was amazing!! She made the day perfect.We saw Minori and Maiori. Walked the lemon path and saw so many amazing things and ended at Vietri su mare. I feel it was the perfect itinerary. No crowds and just the most beautiful views. The walk on the lemon path was challenging but we did it. Amazing day. Thank you!!!

All the guides were very knowledgeable about each of the place we went (Rhodes, Athens and Katakolon). We wish we had more time in Greece. There are too many places in Greece to visit.

We had a wonderful voyage through the Aegean Sea and Greece. In general, all of our excursions and guides were fantastic. In every case, the guides were at the designated meeting areas before we arrived and easily identified with my name on a large sign. The drivers were professional, safe, and cautious, and the vehicles were clean and comfortable. We found the tour guides to be very friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and flexible. Please find below the list of guides beginning with our favorite to least preferred 1. Ephesus - Yesim - ****** - very knowledgeable, deep depth of history, warm, personality plus (had lunch with us), she is the total package). 2. Athens Loula - ***** - brilliant biblical scholar and archeologist, great listener and attentive to our interests, warm, engaging, very sweet lady. 3. MyconosDelos Yolanda - ***** - brilliant, passionate, and exciting archeologist, expert on mythology, well-organized, fantastic teacher, engaging, captivating, high energy. 4. Olympia Elena - **** - very friendly, knowledgeable of mythology and Olympia, very flexible, willing to spend as much time as we required. 5. Chania, Crete Effy - **** knowledgeable, warm, great personality (had lunch with us), very flexible. We have nothing but very high marks for your service and help. You did a fantastic job organizing all of our tours, gave us great recommendations, and were very timely and responsive through the entire process. We will gladly be using your service for future travel. Cant thank you enough for helping to make our adventure so enjoyable and fulfilling.
