This relaxed driving tour is built for guests who want to see Hvar island without a lot of walking, with stops for photos and panoramic views of its towns and the Adriatic Sea.
After meeting your guide at the port, you begin with Hvar Town, which has drawn visitors for more than a century. You drive up to the Venetian style fortress that dominates the town from the hill above the old town. Reaching this 16th century citadel on foot is a strenuous climb for some visitors, but on this tour you drive up in comfort. From its gardens, you have sweeping views over the old town, the Pakleni Islands, and the Adriatic, waters known for their exceptional clarity.
Next you drive along the old coastal road to Starigrad, the oldest town on the island and one of the earliest continuously inhabited settlements in Europe. The Stari Grad Plain surrounding the town preserves an ancient Greek agricultural field system that has earned it UNESCO World Heritage status. You stop for photos at the Dominican Monastery, founded in 1482, along with several other viewpoints along the way that showcase the island's coastline.
You then head back across the island to the port in Hvar Town.
