Cannes Shore Excursion
This full day
Cannes shore trip combines the most popular Riviera stops (Nice, Monaco, Monte Carlo & Eze) with a wine tasting at the Chateau de Cremat. While not a large winery, this is one of the oldest in France, dating to Roman times.
You explore the old town of Nice, see the royal palace of Monaco, the Casino of Monte Carlo and the medieval village of Eze plus the most stunning views and beaches. After meeting your driver guide at the pier in Cannes, you immediately depart for Nice, where you'll drive along La Promenade des Anglais, the street that runs along the most famous beach in the Riviera. You will have a chance to walk through the famous flower market (closed Mondays when flea market takes place) in the old town before stopping on Castle Hill, where the Greeks first arrived and where you can admire a beautiful view over the beach and the old town of Nice.
Leaving Nice your tour follows the Lower Corniche which hugs the dramatic rocky coast line to the unforgettable Principality of Monaco. Your first stop is the old town of Monaco where you have a chance to explore on foot. The must see sights include the Royal Palace and the Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried.
Next you'll follow the path of the legendary Grand Prix of Monte-Carlo Formula 1 circuit. A stop in the modern city of Monte Carlo allows you to experience the unbelievable luxury of this unique place! You will have time to see designer shops, luxury hotels and the famous Casino. Just outside the casino is a beautiful park with plenty of photo opportunities. If you are not a part of the jet set but you want to gamble, visit Loewes Casino which is just next to The Casino of Monte Carlo. The area near the harbor is also a wonderful way to spend your time. Pick a cafe near the sea and dream of owning one of the large yachts you see come and go.
The next stop of this excursion is Eze where you'll visit a typical French medieval village made up of narrow lanes and stone buildings. Eze clings to the cliffs over 1000 feet above the sea. Walk to the top of the city's hill where a garden setting view point overlooks the sea. Take time to peak into the boutiques or enjoy an ice cream with a million dollar view. If you are not up to walking, you can enjoy the scents of Provence at the adjacent Fragonard perfume factory.
Later this afternoon you enjoy a stop at the Chateau de Cremat where you enjoy a sampling of three wines (white, rose and white). The wine tasting is included in the tour price.
At the end of this popular Cannes shore excursion, you'll return to the port along the Upper Corniche, the road which runs along the cliff tops high above the sea, so you can once again enjoy the stunning beauty that a French Riviera tour offers.
