TOUR DESCRIPTION

Private London Walking Tour/h1>

This private walking tour is another excellent option for first time visitors to London. You will see some of London's top sites and then have an interior visit to the famous Westminster Abbey.

Your private guide will meet you at your hotel to start the tour. With seven million people, three hundred languages and 500,000 years of history, London is a city full of secrets and surprises that only a local guide can reveal. Depending on the location of your hotel, you may need to take public transit or a taxi (not included) to get started.

You start by visiting Trafalgar Square, named for the Battle of Trafalgar. This square is the spot where Londoners gather for public demonstrations or events such as New Years Eve. Your guide will explain the important buildings and statues such as Nelson's Column which are found here.

Next you walk to Buckingham Palace which is the official London residence and workplace of the British Monarch. It is often this place where England turns to in times of celebration or crisis. The originally building dates back to 1705. Additions and remodels have brought this beautiful building to us today.

Later you walk to Westminster Abbey, a must-see 700 year old living pageant of British history. Westminster Abbey began as a Benedictine monastery in the year 960. This is the place where coronations take place and also the burial place for historical figures from the last thousand years. In most recent memory, the Abbey was the place of Princess Diana's funeral and then the wedding of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.

Your tour ends not far from Westminster Abbey where you have the chance to see the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye. After saying goodbye to your guide, we suggest you enjoy a trip around the giant Ferris wheel to take in spectacular views of London from high above the River Thames.
