TOUR DESCRIPTION

Reykjavik Shore Excursion

This Reykjavik shore trip is an off the beaten path tour to the Reykjanes Geopark. A highlight is a 3 hour stop to relax and rejuvenate in the milky blue geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon.

After meeting your guide at the pier in Reykjavik you start the drive to the Krysuvik geothermal area. You enjoy a short stop to see the steaming volcanic vents and boiling hot springs. Also located here are the wildly colorful green crater lakes of Graenavatn and Kleifarvatn. The whole area is dramatically framed by a range of multi-colored hills.

Your next stop is the famous Blue Lagoon where you have 3 hours to enjoy the geothermal waters. Your entry includes a mud mask and a single drink (per person). In additional to the natural steamy hot baths there are lounge chairs to enjoy, and a restaurant is also on site.

After your time of relaxation you drive to the Reykjanes Lighthouse and Gunnuhver hot spring. The Reykjanes Lighthouse was built in 1907 on Baejarfell hill to replace a previous one, which was the first Lighthouse in Iceland. Today this lighthouse is considered the most popular lighthouse among Icelanders.

Your final stop today is the Bridge between two continents. This area of Iceland shows the evidence of diverging plates between the North American and European continents. You have the chance to walk from one continent to the next.

Note: You will need to bring your swim wear for the Blue Lagoon. However, even if you are visiting in the middle of summer, please wear warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes, preferably hiking shoes.

Children: Please contact us if there are children in your private group as there are age restrictions for the Blue Lagoon but also discounts.

Mobility: NO wheelchairs
If you cannot find what you are looking for, our Reykjavik shore excursions can also be customized to fit your needs. If you have a larger group, we can offer you a private Reykjavik tour using a mid-size bus or full size coach. Please contact us with any questions or to receive a customized quote.
