Cochin, India - This private tour includes a 3 hour boat cruise through the backwaters of Alleppey. A boat cruise is the best way to explore the Kerala region's true beauty and it also gives you a glimpse into the lives of the locals. .

After meeting your guide in Cochin you drive to Alleppey (Alappuzha) which is widely known as the "Venice of the East." Upon arrival you board a local motorboat for a cruise through a lusty knot of tropical vegetation and thick palm groves. The wide network of rivers, lakes, canals and lagoons is called "backwaters". These backwaters link with the Kerala region�۪s central coast.

In the past, these canals acted like a water highway for the trading of goods. Today, the canals are perfectly formed for a very lovely cruise. You will discover grandiose forests and ancient churches, scared mosques and old temples that can be seen amid the trees. For many people, the most captivating scenes are villagers bathing and cleaning their clothes. You might even see the locals cleaning their buffaloes in the waters.

After your boat cruise through this beautiful region you go to a local hotel or restaurant for a delicious buffet lunch (meal not included in tour price).

After lunch you will drive back to Cochin.
