Invergordon, Scotland - The Urquhart Castle overlooking the beautiful Loch Ness is the highlights of this half day tour. After meeting your guide at the pier, you drive along the Loch Ness via Inverness.

You stop to visit the Urquhart Castle which is one of the largest castles in Scotland, with a long and colorful history. The castle was built in the 1230s and seized by the English in 1296. Then in 1545 it was sacked by the MacDonald Lords of the Isles. Finally, in 1689 it was left to decay.

Today the property is owned by the National Trust and you can tour the castle ruins including great views from the castle tower. The castle was built in a strategic spot with the cold waters of Loch Ness located on three sides of the site. If you'd like you can walk down to the shores of Loch Ness.

After your visit to the castle, you return to the pier in Invergordon. Of course your guide will share many stories of Loch Ness with you.
