The full day private tour allows you to see the highlights of Helsinki but also visit one of Finland's most charming villages, Porvoo. After meeting your private driver and licensed guide you start your day in Helsinki.

At the sea front is the famous Kauppatori or Market Square where vendors sell fresh fish, flowers, vegetables and more. In the heart of the city is the Senate Square which is lined with several Neoclassical buildings including the Presidential Palace, the Helsinki University and the Lutheran Cathedral. In the center of the square is a statue of Alexander II, the Czar of Russia and Grand Duke of Finland.

On Mannerheim Street, Helsinki’s main street, you will see the National Museum and Finlandia Hall, designed by the famous architect Alvar Aalto. Other impressive sights are the Opera House, Finlandia Concert Hall and the Parliament building.

A highlight for most visitors is a visit to the Temppeliaukio Rock Church. This is considered one of Europe's most unique churches. It is carved out of solid rock in the side of the mountain and topped by a copper dome.

Before lunch you also pay a visit to another of Helsinki's landmarks, the Sibelius Monument in Sibelius Park which honors the famed Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.

You have one and a half hours free time in Helsinki to enjoy lunch on your own. If you wish, we can organize lunch at one of Helsinki's most famous restaurants, details are below.

After lunch you depart for the historical and charming little town of Porvoo which is located about 30 miles east of Helsinki. The town is very famous for its well preserved wooden houses which date from the 18th century. These beautiful buildings with colorful roofs are located on delightful streets, making it one of the treasures in the history of Finnish architecture.

In addition to enjoying these beautiful homes you will also visit the Old Church of Porvoo, the Town Hall Square and local craftsmen's workshops.

You will understand how this small town has attracted artists and writers for many years and now tourists as well. After your Porvoo tour you return to the pier in Helsinki.
