Funchal, Madeira - This full day tour allows you to enjoy dramatic mountain and ocean views, small charming towns and the popular town of Porto Moniz. You have time to enjoy lunch with an amazing view.

After meeting your guide at the pier in Funchal you start your journey westward along the coast. You enjoy a stop at the viewpoint of Pico de Torre. From here you can view the dazzling bay of the fishing village of Câmara de Lobos.

From here you continue up into the mountains until you reach Cabo Girão. This is the second highest cliff face in the world, standing at almost 1750 feet. Standing at the railing of the viewpoint is a breathtaking treat.

Next is a short stop in the town of Ribeira Brava which was one of the first inhabited towns on the island. Following your visit in Ribeira Brava you start to drive north until you reach the summit at the Encumeada pass. From here you can enjoy wonderful views of the sea on both sides of the island. On many days people are dazzled over the clouds which spill over the peak from the north to the south.

Your final stop is at Porto Moniz which is located at the most northwestern point of the island. The main attraction here are the beautiful natural bathing pools which are surrounded by unique lava rocks. These shallow pools are filled by the tide with crystal clear water. While you are here you have the chance to enjoy lunch in the Orca restaurant which offers views of the beautiful pools.

This afternoon you return to Funchal passing Paul da Serra, the only plateau on the island which sits at nearly 4200 feet above the sea.
