This tour includes a visit to the famous town of Guadalest, one of the must see sights in Spain. After meeting your driver and licensed guide at the pier in Alicante you depart for the hilltop town. On the way you enjoy a short photo stop in the mountainous outskirts of Guadalest. On the stop you can enjoy a glass of locally produced Moscatel wine or some freshly squeezed orange juice. In just a few minutes time you will be in Guadalest.

The picturesque village of Guadalest is perched like an eagle's nest on the mountainside. Even though it has only 200 residents, it is one of the top sights in Spain. In 1974 it was declared a "Monument of Historical and Artistic Value".

Guadalest enjoys a spectacular location, set high on a pinnacle and carved right into the mountain. Your private guided tour takes you through the cobbled streets of this fairytale village, and lets you enjoy the spectacular views. You'll walk up to the upper village through a tunnel hewn out of the rock. On this rock sits the famous castle ruins and the church’s distinctive bell tower. You will visit the tastefully restored House of the Ordunas which once belonged to the overlords of the valley below.

You have the chance to see the ruined castle which dates back to the 12th century. The castle is of Islamic origin and was an important factor in defending the city. In 1644 an earthquake badly damaged the castle so today you have the ruins.

After the city tour, free time is included for you to have snacks or lunch on your own. Guadalest’s many craft and souvenir shops plus several small and interesting museums will catch your eye. Later this afternoon you return to Alicante.
